lol  ;D antiphishing should be integrated in your browser already (IE8 and FF3 do), so no sweat  ::) as to keyloggers, I admit I never really worried about that. UAC should take care of that in Vista (should...), and if not, run a separate HIPS.

edit: not sure if the script blocker in avast pro addresses keylogger issues, may be...

@Defence

best configurations

no.1 Update the antivirus daily.
no.2 should you have to do a boot time scan: http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php
no.3 avast found a suspicious item, then upload it to avast hence increasing your protection by helping avast increasing the detection rate.
no.4 dont run multiple antivirus(av) solutions.
no.5 any help regarding avast av, come back (post a new topic).

Until you get to know it a little better leave it on the default settings, which provide a good balance between protection and performance.

Then if there is a particular question about a Provider/Shield as a question, the avast help file, resident protection is also good source of information.

You can't, it is part of the 'price' you pay for using  the Home free version. You aren't forced to upgrade to the Pro version, however if you do that single ad wouldn't be there.

For the luv of God, please find a way for the Boot Time Scan to be done in Windows x64! This is the ONLY thing keeping me from fully going to WIndows x64. (I've been testing WIndows 7 RC x64, which has run so nice... but the unavailability of the boot time scan is SORELY missed!

Slm Defence. :D

Set the shield levels to high for real-time protection (of course you can customize the on-access settings there according to your needs, if you don't have any idea on those settings, just leave the shields at high level). Do full system scans with archive scanning turned on ("arşiv taraması" in Turkish) and the thorough scan option ("eksiksiz tarama" in Turkish). You may select the option "Check for full screen applications before displaying popups" ("Açılır pencere göstermeden önce tam ekran uygulamalarını denetle") from "Troubleshooting" ("Sorun bulma") part of the program settings (not on-access protection settings). Also you should increase the maximum size of the chest for a single file from the program settings.

Then you'll be fine i think. :)
