Every 3.6 seconds a website is infected

Infected websites have been the single biggest threat over the past six months, and the threat vectors that have seen the most growth are Web 2.0 and social networking technologies, according to the report, which was released Wednesday by security firm Sophos.

Approximately 23,500 infected webpages are discovered every day – that's a new one every 3.6 seconds, according to Sophos' recently released July security threat report. That infection rate is faster than in 2008, during which the first half of that year saw a newly infected website being identified every 4.5 seconds, Richard Wang, manager, Sophos Labs U.S. told SCMagazineUS.com on Tuesday.

Absolutely and some people thing they are OK as they only visit 'safe sites' ;D

Fortunately the web shield is over it like a rash, not to mention Firefox (your favourite browser) with NoScript, provides a degree of protection.

With pro-active measures and avast then the risk is much less, but not completely removed.

I could not agree with DavidR's comment and also with Addict.

Any website which is online can be hacked and malicious code inserted onto the main page.

Avast, MBAM, Firefox, NoScript, ABP, Finjan, Dr. Web and most of all common sense keep me safer :-)

That is what we are saying, the misconception of people that believe they are safe as they only visit 'safe sites,' so you are reading something which is not there.

False. 3 AV isnt better than 1 but its better to conflict and destroy your pc for sure. If you got more than 1 AV u can be sure u got BSOD or missing files or something happaned to it. So you should run only got 1 AV. If you want more protection u can use our recommendation or simply use your own security that you like.
