Is the iPhone Causing Apple to Lose the Plot?

Nicholas Deleon

Is Apple losing the plot? I ask this because, having just read this bollocks (Apple wants to make jailbreaking illegal because it supposedly threatens our nation's cellphone tower infrastructure, and thereby threatens our national security)

iPhone Jailbreaking Could Crash Cellphone Towers, Apple Claims
By David Kravets  July 28, 2009

The nation’s cellphone networks could suffer “potentially catastrophic” cyberattacks by iPhone-wielding hackers at home and abroad if iPhone owners are permitted to legally jailbreak their shiny wireless devices — that’s what Apple claims.

Maybe if the iPhone in the wrong hands is that dangerous then maybe
the iPhone should be recalled and removed from the marketplace.  ??? ???

I don't know how it would be blocked, if it could, it's a web site...(would they be breaking some kind of  law if they did?)

The Google Voice app scandal: is Apple losing control over the iPhone?

Sounds like Apple's answers where prepared by a Politician.  ;D

I like this one:
Quote
In its answers, the company points out that it “spent a lot of time and effort developing this distinct and innovative way to seamlessly deliver core functionality of the iPhone” and goes on to point out how Google’s app “replaces” some of Apple’s phone features.

There are many apps that 'replace' the features, GPS apps for instance...

I have a couple on my ipod touch that do just that, but they got approved...hmmm...
