Windows live cd is not available. it is only available in linux distro's.

when u have ubuntu cd then why you dont want to use it to get your files from your windows drive?

you can get all your videos ,pics.. etc.. (all your documents) using the live cd by browsing the windows drive.. but you need something like portable hdd, may be, to back up all the files...

well if my computer was in that situation, then i would probably do what i said.

Well, sometimes it does happen to every other person. make sure next time that you use only one security product.

hello2007, I strongly suggest you use two partitions in your computer.
One for Windows and other programs.
Other for your documents and data.
If something gets really wrong, you can format the first partition and keep the second.
Of course, it does not substitute backups.

To partitionate, try http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
