Just downloaded COMODO Firewall, should I disable teatimer?
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:41:48 PM »
Hi, I just downloaded comodo firewall and noticed it protects reg keys, as does teatimer. My first question is should I disable teatimer? And my second is will teatimer cause any software conflicts if I dont disable it. Also, does avast scan running processes as they are made and terminate as necessary, like teatimer?

So is it safe to disable teatimer and use spybot as an on demand scanner?

Sure, avast! has a built-in real-time on-access antispyware. ;)

Online Armor Free is a much better firewall & much lighter & friendlier than Comodo. ;)

In my opinion, you should uninstall Spybot and use superantspyware and Malwarebytes instead as on-demand scanners as Avast does provide goood antispyware protection.
Comodo is a very good free firewall, you can keep it. Just opt out of the toolbar.

Spybot S&D has not kept up with the times like Malwarbytes Anti-Malware (MBAM)

Come on, Avast is good enough and I'm sure that Avast suite will be a GREAT success.  We'll have a stable AV with good detection rates and low Fp.  It will have a nice forum which implies a nice support as well.  It will have a nice GUI, low impact on resources, a free version of the AV which we can recommend to friends and an AUTOMATED firewall.  So there is no need for Avast users to indulge in the "Comodo bashing" as well.

Thanks.

Yes, now Avast has changed, it is targeting a new market as it now offers a suite.  It has to compete with products like NIS 010 and KIS 010 which is not an easy task as both Avast and the other companies are improving rapidly.  It should not simply be considered as a great freebie but it should be good enough so that people will buy it.

Good luck to the avast team.

To the OP, I find no need to use teatimer if you are using Defense+, it will simply be too difficult to use.

Wat does that mean?
