Last night after getting avast! it found a virus on my PC called w95:Matyas after doing a bit of searching I found out it was not even a virus. It's when you use a free online scanner, avast! just thinks the file(s) are a virus.
http://www.techsupportforum.com/computer/topic/12964-1.html"they are false positives because you have just used an online scan with housecall/panda or whatever
you can post a new hijackthis log if you want, but I've seen many reports of this recently
avast seems to be finding the virus signature inside the definitions that panda/housecall is using to scan for
apparently it's a fairly common problem with avast, because of it's heuristics, it gives a lot of false positive"
So shouldn't this be fixed, so avast! doesn't think files are viruses? Just had a friend tell me "problem with freeware
"
