avast! already detects majority of spyware as Win32.Trojan-gen.
Its not bloatware if it can detect more stuff. And sometimes spyware is so aggressive that is classified as virus/trojan.

When I first installed Avast in January, it detected this Win32.Trojan-gen. I was wondering what that was. Now I know. Thanks  :)

Anyone use eXtendia anit-virus (AVK)?  Wondering between avast and AVK which is the best.  One friend tells me AVK is the best out there cause its dual engines RAK and KAV in one.

So far I'm very pleased with avast!

RejZoR - I think you mis-understand what I was saying. Avast is fine as it is now with what spyware it does detect.

My comment was meaning that if avast! is added to, as some people would want it to be, it would become another NAV or McAfee. Do you really want to see that happen?    ???

I know I sure do not want to see that!    ::)
