Windows xp security centre is saying my avast! is out of date
« on: August 29, 2009, 01:44:59 PM »
Today I logged into my computer, and I am getting the red security shield warning from Windows XP service pack three.  :(
I always keep my avast! upto date automatically, and install updates automatically.
I clicked into security centre, and it says my avast! is out of date and reference to:
avast! antivirus 4.8.1 351 (ups 090828-0).
I right clicked onto my avst!Q icon in system tray to update, but when updated it said I was already uoto date on iVAS program updates.
Is it safe to ignore this windows warning?
So worried, hopefully someone here can help, many thanks!!!

Sorry I stand corrected ::)
I just checked, time was right, but for some reason i was on 29th of September, slip of the mouse or something!!! I have now corrected date and re-started and hey presto the problem is gone.
Thank you very, very much pondus on your quick and accurate reply!!! ;D
Avast! is a wonderful AV, I used to pay for McAfee and had loads of problems, with not much back-up or help. This forum has now helped me for a second time, you are all wonderful! Keep up the good work!
Many thanks again.
