Some questions regarding avast 5
« on: August 21, 2009, 08:16:42 AM »
I'm very sorry if I might not be able to answer this questions myself since I do not have any virtualization software for the meantime. So here it goes:

(1) In free version, would the dialog box* every detection remain or would it changed?

*The dialog box that pause the scan.

(2) Since VRDB is gone now, what would help in repair functions?

(3) Would there add-ons like Parental Control add-on, Registry cleaner, etc.

(4) Will FrostWire be supported by P2P shield?

(5) Will Script Blocker work on other browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc.

(6) Will the upload type of file submission be continued?

No. It will be removed even in the free version.

(2) Since VRDB is gone now, what would help in repair functions?
Good question.

Parental control is possible in the future. They have software to add it to the suite (paid).
But registry cleaner... well, it will make avast a bloatware...

(5) Will Script Blocker work on other browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc.
Good question.

The other questions, well, I don't know the answer.
The best things in life are free.
