last fail was imho because VBTN couldn't/wouldn't  manage to switch the avast Shield / on-access-scanner to test "on open" instead of "before execute"(default setting & pretty safe)...
maybe a repetition now..?

see board search, lots of threads on this sad topic

I don't have the magazine yet.. so I don't really know. But I've heard that it's because avast missed a single sample somewhere (don't know which/where, though)...

It's often like this with the VB tests...

Hope it was the zipped sample, since its normal that antivirus doesn't scan inside archives (waste of CPU and memory time).

AFAIK the VB test sets don't include any archived files... so probably no, it was not a ziped file.

Never mind.

I don't need VB100 to tell me what I already know!
Avast is the best even if they can't get their act together ;D

I am currently out so I can't check if it is true, but according to the VB magazine:

"Despite coming close to a VB 100% award, Alwil's product fell short by one file - the .HTM sample of W32/Lovelorn was missed from the ItW test set."

Thanks Pavel. But I suppose you will correct this asap and receive a new 100% award soon  8)

By the way,according to @risk, F-Secure has 2 problems:
Malformed LHA Archive Buffer Overflow  and
Content Detection Bypass
Norton has one
Remote Code Execution
I didn't see anything about avast

Can you give me a link? I Use F-Secure as a Backup Scanner to Avast and would like to know how this will affect me
