3 times were sent by a question to a support service - the answer is not present! Prompt what to do?

Contact, sales (at) avast (dot) com, giving them the email address that you used when you purchased your 4.8 Pro license, the date, etc. as they should hopefully be able to retrieve the old license number.

I have no idea what your question is about.

If it is related to the avast forums Profile information, personal avatar, then until you have 20 posts you can't.
- The problem comes from drive by spammers, who having registered put objectionable or commercial links in their profile signature to try and gain link promotion, etc.

There have also been cases of the PM function being abused to spam forum members, so you will notice that you can't use the PM function either.

Unfortunately because of the actions of others legitimate members suffer by the actions to prevent this spamming.

I mean, this is entirely legitimate and reasonable.
Thank you very much. :)

You're welcome, it doesn't take long to get 20 posts for active participants in the forums.

No, as the free version is for Home and Non-Commercial use, even non-profit organisations are classed as businesses, but there are I believe discounts for non-profit organisations, so I don't know if a museum would be in that category. Contact sales (at) avast (dot) com and they would know.

Hi! I need help I was not able to find anywhere. I am new to forum so am not sure I am even sending this to the right place.
I have used Avast successfully for yrs and it updated fine until just recently (past wk or so) I noticed it wasn't updating. That was version 4.8 I believe. I didn't have time to notice but then Windows Security Alert popped up today saying Avast was out of date which it isn't. Avast says I don't need to update till July. I am registered.
I dl and installed Avast 5.0.462 today,  but that didn't solve the problem. It scans and the icon in task bar says "my system is secure". However it will still not update.
About 2 months ago I switched from dial up to Verizon mobile wireless broadband but it seemed to work for over a month but now wonder if that had something to do with.
Also I have unchecked dial up but didn't ck that I am always on line either. I use IE to get on line so that is what is marked in the proxy section.
Can you please help. I have no other anti virus program.               Windows XP SP3
Thank you, Brit

Please start a New Topic of your own as this will just confuse the topic and we will try to help.
- Go to this link, http://forum.avast.com/index.php, scroll down to the avast! Free/Pro/Suite forum and click it, click the New Topic button at the top of the list and post there.

I can't even figure out how to POST a message in the Forum! I wanted to know why my program says Firewall not available when I have Internet Security Program.
Where the heck is the POST Question button?
