I can't even figure out how to POST a message in the Forum! I wanted to know why my program says Firewall not available when I have Internet Security Program.
Where the heck is the POST Question button?
- Please start a New Topic of your own.
- Go to this link, http://forum.avast.com/index.php.
- Select the avast! Free/Pro/Suite forum and click it, click the New Topic button (see image, click to expand) at the top of the list and post there.

Can anyone help me.

My avant anti virus icon shows an x and it says that it is in an inconsistent state.

I keep hitting fix now but nothing happens.

Does any one please know how to fix it as my membership is fully paid up.

Thanks

1. Please start a new thread of your as this will make help effort easier not mixing it with the original subject of this topic.
2. Go to http://forum.avast.com/index.php, select one of the forums (boards) there and click the "New Topic" button (see screenshot) at the top of the list and post there.

Windows XP conflict
« Reply #139 on: November 24, 2010, 02:39:03 PM »
Hi Guys
I'm new to forums so please forgive me if this message is out of context.

I recently downloaded Avast free anti virus to my girlfriends laptop which uses windows XP.

After running a quick scan (which took around 4 hours), the system logged off and won't let me back in.

The system seems to be caught in a loop.
After switching on the computer asks me for login details.User name and password.
When these are entered a new window opens with the message 'windows is loading your personal details' then simply logs me off, returning to the logon screen.

Can anybody help please

@ greyhaired luddite,

I noticed you created a new thread for your issue, which was the appropriate thing to do for us to help you.  Thank you, and welcome to the forum.  :)

Contact sales (at) avast (dot) com and give as much information as you can, what product was purchased (and duration 1, 2 years, etc.), date of purchase (as close as you can) where purchased, email address used, etc.

Again, not the right thread. Please don't post in unrelated (and old) threads, and please don't repeat the question. It just doubles the help effort.

I have answered here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=51790.msg573988#msg573988

i guess you have the free version ?

On-line registration is very simple and it's the preferred method for all users of avast Free Antivirus 5.x installed on a computer with standard Internet connectivity. To perform on-line registration follow these steps:

Can someone please help me.  I purchase this program for two years.  The site is telling me that my trial period is up.  I never download the trial period I purchased it for two years.
What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

You don't download a trial version as such, but you need to input the license file or after 30 days it will deem the 30 days unrestricted use (trial) is over. So you either need to purchase the license and enter it or uninstall the Pro version.

You should have received an email with either an attached file (license.avastlic) or a link to download it ?

That should be saved to your hard drive where you can find it again, then double click on it and avast will enter the license into the program.

Heya! My question is about the Avast Forum itself:

Is a secure login available when inputting our passwords or updating the account related page of our profiles?

Thanks!
