Task Bar icons greyed out
« on: May 31, 2004, 05:37:51 PM »
Hi,
Since installing Avast 4 Home on the host computer (XPHome + cable modem) on my home network, the 2 blue balls in my task bar appear to be more grey blue than a bright blue. The client on my home network has bright ones. They rotate as and when activated.
Why is this?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

when the Icons are REALLY grey, the shields are inactive..
click the icons and look for the status of the Scan/shield provider(s): are they active ?
also test the shield(s) with the harmless testfile eicar.com from www.eicar.com

maybe you just have a different colour scheme on your XP host ?

As whocares says, this is more likely to be a graphics/windows settings.

If you hover your mouse over the avast icon it will show avast! On-Access Scanner: x providers9s0 total, x running, x being the number of providers and number of providers active.
