Does Foxit Reader contain Ad's
« on: September 24, 2009, 01:48:14 PM »
I installed foxit reader today and when I open the pdf file I was suprise to see these ad's (I think they were ad's) displayed on the top right hand corner just underneath the minimize and close button. I'm sure I did not install (check) the foxit toolbar, ask toolbar and some ebay sh**.

Can someone that has foxit reader can confirm me if that is normal that they have some ads of phantom, PDF on mobile devices, ebooks, ect in there pdf file.

That a huge reason to avoid Foxit imho.
People blame Adobe Acrobat but seems to forget we hate nagwares...

Its one of those applications that has scummed to the Ask.com infliction.

Make sure you do not permit the Ask.com Toolbar install  by using the Custom install and un-select eBay shortcut to the Desktop.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and select Ask.com Toolbar.

Somehow that Ask.com Toolbar gets installed even if you don't want it:  ::)

FoxIt Reader officially malware!

I'm referring to this ads, although the ask toolbar is another nuisance.

What version of FoxIt are you using, I have 3.1.1.0901 and I don't have any ads.

But I don't have the Ask toolbar and there is also a setting if you right click on the toolbar area to remove any Advert as mentioned, see image.

Those ads can't be removed and I never click on that area.

Rubbish, a, I don't have the ask toolbar and no ads because I have the option unchecked in my previous image, and no ads in Foxit, see image.

Even if I had an ad, something of this size is minuscule and I doubt I would even notice it.
