Whenever i try to run the hijack this program I seem to get the folowing pop up error:-

"an unexpected error has occured at procedure : modMain_StartScan()
Error 6 - overflow"

Also worthy of note is whenever I run any sort of the malware virus check the suspicios warning messages seem to pop us in a frenzy. There can be times when nothing happens for 5 mins then run hijack and the warnings go off. Not sure if this relevant

Please try and upload mchInjDrv.sys from C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\mchInjDrv.sys to virustotal.

If you cannot find the file, please copy/paste the location, go to VT, click browse, paste the path C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\mchInjDrv.sys in the file name box , and send the file

http://www.virustotal.com/

Go to Add/Remove Programs and un-install vulnerable Sun Java jre1.6.0_07 and Adobe Reader 9

Install Java Version 6 Update 16:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Run Secunia Online Software Inspector to see what applications are vulnerable:

By the ways the files are named, I suspect a vundo varient, which can range from just a small virus to a big nuisance.

Sorry Mickey,

Do not copy/paste into the VT box,go to virus total,  click browse, then, when, the explorer window opens, paste into the ' file name ' click open, and send file.

Hello again, I do not think the hidden driver found by Rootrepeal is malicious, also, I think one of the entries I told you to fix ' C:\WINDOWS\system32\sounnogym.exe ' is not  either. There is another entry O23 - Service: Canon BJ Memory Card Manager (ayocek2yeu4y) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sounnogym.exe (file missing)
It appears to belong to Canon. I apologise for that.

Open HijackThis and click the "Open the Misc Tools section" button. Click on the "Backups" button at the top of the interface.

A list of settings that you have removed with HijackThis will appear. Select the setting that you would like to restore  'C:\WINDOWS\system32\sounnogym.exe ' and click the "Restore" button.

I am going to PM someone who will be more able to help you. Please be patient. Hopefully they can help.

If you have connected the pc to internet, then please unplug it. so that you will not infect other pcs in network or start downloading trojans. from another pc, get malwarebytes anti-malware(mbam) from here and the update rules here.

install, update using the offline rules updater and perform a quick scan. if it finds anything, remove all of them and if asked to reboot, reboot. come here and post the log of mbam.

if you cannot run mbam, or any other application, let me know.
