Which Windows 7 Do I Get?
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:07:24 AM »
I will get Windows 7 when I can afford it, and I was wondering if I need the full or the upgrade. Is the upgrade to upgrade from another Windows OS or just from a different Windows 7?

upgrade is for upgrading a version of vista.

If you have windows vista home basic, you can basically upgrade to any version of windows 7.

If you have windows vista ultimate, you'll have to upgrade to the best version of windows 7.

Basically, you can't "upgrade" to lesser version than you already have.

For example, you can't upgrade windows vista business to a windows 7 "home edition* (any version).

Also, you can't "upgrade" from x64 to x86.

Anyway, if you have a lesser or equal version of vista, that you're going to upgrade to 7, you should be ok, provided it's the same architecture (x86 or x64).
