Could this be a False Positive?

So I was signing into my gmail account and right after it loaded my mail the "virus alert thing" popped up but I accidentally exited out of it without thinking. Here is what I got from the on access scanner. Oh and I if I exited out of the virus message what action is taken?

Sorry, but I exited out of the virus alert without looking, I believe it was detected as a virus/worm. I'm doing a scan right now.

Thanks, one more question. If I closed the virus alert without taking any action what does it do? I checked the chest and it wasn't in there.

for that you may have to answer : what were the options available and what did you select?

and did you try logging in to gmail again?

The first thing that I would suggest is that you update avast as the latest program version is 4.8.1356, which closes an exploit.

Honestly, I could not remember seeing any options so that is why I exited it (Is that even possible that there's no options?) And yes, I did login to gmail again and nothing happened.

Hmmm. yes update to the latest version as sir DavidR said.

I have never come across no options. I don't know.. the options might not be there when a suspicious activity is found by a rootkit. not sure.

The only option being abort connection.

If you had clicked abort connection or had exit the browser and cleaned the temporary files then no problem.

Even if you didn't click the abort connection, but simply exited from it avast won't allow any other option, so it won't allow it to be downloaded, as confirmed by your scan.
