Avast won't install on Win 7 Enterprise on HP Netbook 1033CL

Fresh Win7 install.  (I did try to load McAfee from Comcast twice, but it didn't install either.)  When I run the avast_home_setup.exe file after downloading, I get:

1.  Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?
2.  I answer "Yes". get the 'circle hourglass' and it silently dies.  No error message, no messages in event log.

Any ideas?  (I did load 7-zip just to be sure a program could be installed.

Thanks,

Rick

Perfect!  Worked.  Can you explain why it worked and the std install didn't?

First of all, congratulations for the successful installation. Hope avast! pleases you.

By the way, back there. There are some circumstances that network problems or some software inconsistencies may induce those errors. Don't worry, it was now fixed by avast developers. :D
