Virus discovered, only option given was to abort connection
« on: October 26, 2009, 06:38:07 PM »
In visiting a website, Avast threw up a warning saying that a Trojan Horse was discovered.  However, the only option it gave me was to "abort connection".  I clicked on the button as instructed.

Should I be concerned that this Trojan Horse downloaded or did the software prevent it's download when I clicked the button?

no, you shouldn't be concerned. the connection was aborted by the web shield in memory so there's nothing on your disk. Just as a precaution, you should still clear some private data in your browser, cookies, cache...just to make sure you don't get a redirection to any bad site for instance. You can also use CCleaner for that. But again, if as you said the connection was aborted, you don't have any infection in your system.
