Problems with Ameritrade Streamer - java

Help! Suggestions? I believe that avast is abruptly shutting down Ameritrade Streamer. If I turn off Avast, I only shut it down for a few minutes, the problem seems to go away. Is there a setting I need to adjust? Can I set  up avast to NOT scan this application utilizing Java? please advise. I use windows xp pro, Java version 6 update 17.

first of all:  wrong forum...  this part of the forum is for the BART cd, you probably need to post in the  Avast Home/Pro section....

you can tell avast to make exceptions for certain directories to scan. I dont know from the top of my mind where to set it since i use ADNM to control my avast installations... but there is a possibility to make a scanning exceptoion for files and directories
