URL Blocking list
« on: November 10, 2009, 04:01:41 PM »
Hello all, I am do a clean install of Windows 7 from Vista and using the migration tool for all my email, settings, documents etc. One thing that I cannot seem to bring over is a VERY long list of URLs that I have blocked in the Avast! WebShield > Customize > URL Blocking. Does anyone know where this list is stored in the directory structure? I've looked in all the hidden and system places I could think of and can't find it. Or alternatively, is there a way to export this list and load it onto another computer (the same way that I can export my list of blocked cookies in IE and load on another install)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No, I'm afraid there no way to export that list.
As for where it's stored - it's in a binary database file... so it's not really accessible there either.

Isn't it better to block them at Hosts file.
I suggest HostMan to manage it (http://www.abelhadigital.com/).

HostsMan is a good HOSTS file manager and its browser speedup proxy HostsServer is good as well.

I use hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS files.
