Hi I cannot access a boot scan

In the menu schedual a boot time scan is not high lighted 
any suggestions

Do you have XP/Vista 32bit or 64bit? The boot scan does not work under 64bit

Boot scan is not available in 64 bit editions. hopefully it will be available in version 5.1.
