New Avast AV User...
« on: June 10, 2004, 06:20:08 PM »
I'm using the current version (v4.1; build 4.1.396).  My question is after the VRDB has been set up, how does one stop the "On-Access Scanner" from "talking", i.e. everytime you make a move with the Microsoft Windoze XP OS, it gives you a detail list of every file you access for a certain function.  This box shoots up from the Tray and frequently obliterates about 35% to 50% of the screen.  I wish for this to stop, since it is somewhat annoying, but not at the expense of the purpose of the software -- to stop the incursion of virii.  Please help me.

Hello! Welcome to avast! forums :)

Open On-Access screen, select Standard Shield and click Customize...

Now click Advanced tab and remove check in front of "Show detailed info on performed action".

This should help :)

Rejzor....
Would you happen to know if that option is supposed to be enabled by default?.When i installed avast it wasnt , and neither was any of my friends...for whom i installed avast home on.Yet that question pops up often where it seems to be enabled by default for some folks.
