BTW, Osage, I too have Dial Up.  If a major download is required with avast 5, what I'll do is go to my neighbor who has High Speed Internet.  I'll make the BIG download there and burn it into a CD and then install from the CD to my computer.  So, that's the route you can take.  Find a friend who has High Speed Internet and download it there and burn it to a CD.

A USB Flash drive is better and its much quicker to place the file on it than burn a CD just for one file.

Good idea no need to waste Cd anymore!
When you finished installing the update you can delete it^^!

Oh, I don't actually waste a CD just for one File.
I just add it to this CD where I have several of my Backup Apps.
But, I do plan on hopefully getting a Flash Drive whenever I can.
