Hi, I just started up my pc and Avast asked to do an update, so I allowed this. After the update was completed, it said it needed to reboot, so I allowed this also. When my pc restatred, I tried to log into my Outlook Express and a message came up from my firewall (Zone Labs, and Sygate) that said Avast email wanted to acsess the net, so I allowed this. Then when I try to read my mail, I get a dialog box that says account name, and password both of which I type in, but I cannot get into the mail, like it is stuck with that dialog box, any help?

Did you add your usual SMTP server into Avast?

Note: Why do you have two firewalls? That is not good.

Uh, uninstall those rubbish software firewalls, and go by a $30 SMC Barricare Hardware firewall.

Having one Software firewall is one thing, have TWO is simply rediculous!  Talk about conflicts, winsock overhead, and system bog down!

Kobra is right ... having 2 software firewalls will cause a conflict. Choose one and delete the other one.    :)

I did not know that 2 firewalls will be a problem, I deleted Zone Alarm through add & remove programs, kept Sygate, where can I find this $30 SMC Barricare Hardware firewall at? Also I do not remember adding my smtp into Avast, how would I get into the area of Avast to set this and how? Thanks

For the SMC, go to newegg.com look under network routers.
May be $40 with a $10.00 rebate for a total of $30.00

For the e-mail account set up go to
START
PROGRAMS
AVAST
MAIL PROTECTION WIZARD
