I think I will pass on this (as all later versions I skipped), as Office 98 does all I need ;D

Not even to Office 2000? (Secretly I do still miss WordPerfect6.1)

I could probably do without MS Office completely and use something else as I no longer have to worry about sending documents to people that effectively required it to be in Word/Excel format.

I tried Open Office v2 and didn't like it in the slightest and though supposedly compatible it did screw with my documents, even when they were only opened it asked if the changes should be saved. I haven't tried the latest version of OO, but my need now for word processing and spreadsheets is very limited, so I have stuck with what I have.

lol I just read on a French site that this beta was downloadable from any browser...except Chrome  ;D. I won't give the link to the article as, as said, it's in French. I just tried, it's true, you get a waiting animation in Chrome that never ends  8)

When I downloaded it I also ran into that same problem since I use Chrome as my default browser. I finally downloaded it using IE8.
