AswLgNt Component
« on: November 28, 2009, 04:05:46 AM »
After the update to 4.8.1368 a new entry has appeared in my Zone Alarm firewall listing, named AswLgNt Component. The path for the entry is C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\asw100m.exe. At the moment it is not seeking to access either the internet or trusted zones.

What is the purpose of this module, and what firewall clearence does it require for proper operation.

Thanks David,
Unfortunately a search for AswLgNt did not show any items other than my own query.

A search for Asw100m returns a single request asking if this file is genuine, and an answer from Igor that it is.

That doesn't answer my question as to what it's purpose is, or what Firewall clearance it should be given, so I am still looking for answers.

It was the asw100m.exe that I was thinking of, you could also ask in that topic and see if Igor can expand on it.
