I've also been giving Immunet Protect a run. It seems to work well and although it is said it can do well on its own, it is designed to work alongside a "regular" antivirus program. It's one of the newer programs that moves a lot of its functions to the "cloud" (server side,) like Panda's new Cloud Antivirus.
I recently downloaded a Trojan downloader by mistake thinking it to be a crack for eboostr (forgive me for downloading pirated versions)
Avast didn't detect it even after I scanned the file manually. Avast does a bad job detecting spyware.
I've already installed Immunet and it too failed to detect it.
So I installed Malwarebytes and it detected it.
What I really need is a real time scanner not standalone. Any advise?
