How can u Disable the boot time scan?
« on: November 30, 2009, 06:29:49 PM »
Hi. I am trying to figure out how to disable the boot time scan. I am currently trying to update my computer and it's having to restart alot due to all the updates and I spend more time waiting on the boot scan than anything else. Normally my updates would of only took me a few hours but not it's onto day 3 of updates which isn't normal due to the boot scan. I was wondering if there is anyway I can disable it and put it back to having a set time to scan again.
Thank you so much for your help.

You shouldn't have to figure out anything as it only runs once, either after you install avast (and agree to the suggestion to run it) or you schedule it, in which case it runs on the next boot only.

So are you saying it runs before every boot, see image ?

If so then there is something wrong, do you have any registry protection software that might stop the cancellation of the entry to run it ?
