Windows 7 - 64bit Home edition has not Boot time scan
« on: December 07, 2009, 11:40:03 PM »
I have a new Compaq system loaded with Avast Pro on it. I went to schedule a boot time scan and the option is grayed out.

I have Avast Pro loaded on a blade PC and Virtual machines that are running fine, the only difference is they are on Windows 7 Business Edition

Does anybody have any clues as to where to look for this problem?
I have already removed and reinstalled Avast, still same problem. Also when installing there is no option to setup a boot time scan as well

there's no problem, ie nothing that can be solved atm, avast boot scan is currently not compatible with 64 OS, 5.0 won't be either, but 5.1 will be  ;) (5.0 will be out soon after the holidays, and 5.1 sometime next year...)

Yes, no boot scan possible in 64bit OS. (Yet)
But this raises the question: Why do you want to perform a boot scan? Are you having problems with a malware that cannot be moved/quarantined?
