Win32:Delf-MZG restore files JUST SO I'M CLEAR ON INSTRUCTIONS
« on: December 03, 2009, 06:22:39 PM »
Ok, I used/followed the instructions, I AM using the current VPS 091203-1.

I re-scanned all I'd sent to the chest, and all say no virus.

I restored them all and everything "seems" fine thus far.  I even checked in all the Program files to ensure they are all restored and they all appear to be there.

NOW:

Here's my question:   IF  I use the system for a few days and all appears well, I can delete the files from the chest, correct?

What happens if I leave them?  Nothing?

Which would you recommend?

Thanks.

Yes, correct.
You can leave them in Chest, nothing happens - they only use some space on your harddisk (and in the Chest, if you have a size limit set in avast! options).

The instructions don't work for me.  I am using version 4.8 and when I click on start avast, the program starts a memory scan and then opens the Simple Interface help page.  I can not seem to access the control panel where it is possible to restore files from the chest.  Please help!!!

That's right - just click on the symbol of Chest in the Simple User Interface.
Or, you can directly start the file ashChest.exe from the avast! installation folder.

Thanks Igor.
I never see the simple user interface; only the SUI help file.
I will try the direct method.

You are appreciated here!
