Finally, everything works just great here... I uninstalled avast! (I must confess I felt so naked without it... I couldn't wait to "wear" it again, hehe), erased completely avast! sub-directory from Program Files directory... I cleaned registry and I rebooted my PC. After that I installed avast! again and everything seems to be just great. My screensaver works again, I can configure it the way I like it and that's pretty much everything !!!

For me it is not solved  :'(
When I click the advanced options of the module I receive an error.
I already send it to Alwil by IMAP.
I won't uninstall just because of this. There are too many configurations to do all again.
The module is working because I configurated it before the update.
Now I can't configure it. There is no error message, just the possibility to send the error (error report).

1. can you post exact step-by-step instructions how to repro the problem?
2. what language version of avast are you using?

I have Pro version, installed before 4.1.418 and updated before the trouble appears. I have used avast screen saver before, configure it to use my screensaver and have access to 'advanced settings'.

Now, step by step:
1. Control Panel > Video applet > Screen Saver
2. Click on Configurations
3. Open the window with the Advanced settings un-checked
4. If you check that option, the application crashes
5. You receive the report error posted here

Note, the button Settings marked on green works perfectly.

Of course, repair function does not work

Well this button does nothing else than executes the screen saver with a specific command line....

What happens if you select a different screen saver? Does it crash as well?

Try e.g. one of the standard Windows screensavers, such as Mystify or Starfield...

Both of them crashes avast...
By the way, any screen saver is crashing avast  :'(

If I'm reading it correctly, avast! crashes when the checkbox "Advanced configuration" is checked, not when the "Settings" button is clicked (it works, right?)
So, the crash is somehow related to the display of the additional avast! configuration options (pages)... maybe some kind of problem with the options stored in avast! database?

Does it concerns to avast4.ini file? Strange, I have not change it and it is working in the last version before the update to the last one  :'(
