I've emailed and been ignored, I've posted before about it..

It's INFURIATING.

I was just watching a movie, in full screen mode, and suddenly AGAIN "Avast has been updated" pops up, the big fat blue window, over my movie.

I cannot make it go away, just click on it to make the friggen thing link to a website.

IF this does not stop I'll just go elsewhere. I get it in games, movies, and even web browsing, where I have to click on the fragging thing to load the web page, close it just to MAKE IT GO THE FK AWAY.

WHY DO YOU MAKE SUCH AN OBTRUSIVE THING?

Put an X on it ffs.

 Try this: avast > program settings > Update Settings (Basic) > Details > Uncheck the box "Show sliding box after automatic update" > "OK"

Please, you're working with one of the most configurable antivirus round... Set it accordingly
You have a Silent/Game mode also

Your instructions are not accurate.  There is no program settings.  I tried settings and there is no update settings.  Would you check and write better instructions.

That is because you are resurrecting  a topic almost a 7 months old when we will have been talking about avast 4.8 and this is correct for avast 4.8.

So it would have been better not to have posted in a very old topic but to create a new one. Where you could outline exactly what it is that you have a problem with as that too is likely to have changed in avast 5.0.
