Good question. :)

We're almost done, although the development "consumer edition" of avast (i.e. avast home/pro) is now kind of a side job because we're trying to release the server and network versions as soon as possible.

Anyway, most of the stuff for avast 4.1 (or whatever name it will have) is already complete (the unpackers, the IM plugin, the P2P plugin, support for multiple SMTP servers in Inet Mail, Unicode support in resident protection etc.). There are some more things on the list, but not a big deal, really.

So from my viewpoint it shouldn't really take long, but there may be other things that may delay it...

Sorry for being so vague ;)

Do I have to upgrade to the new version , and if so, will my "PRO licence" will still be the same ?

Do i have to buy a new license ?

Personaly i would like to keep the current version running on my pc, as everything is working nearly perfect now...

Will AVAST 4.0 build 40.235 still be supported ? (updates and forum support)

I'm not exactly the right person to say, but I think 4.1 will be handled as an update to 4.0, i.e. just as any other program update.
It is possible that the licensing scheme will be changed, but your current PRO license would be also "updated" for free.

It's going to be a seemless update for v4 users - just a normal program update. The changes will be inside...

Will avast support other languages than the 3 actually?
I suppose that won´t be "a lot of changes" in help and other files because I´m in the middle of a translation, please...  :'(

Sure, there are some avast translations in progress - try to find the recent questions on this theme in this forum or maybe Igor will be faster with his answer.

I don't expect any bigger changes in the translation - i.e. the translation of 4.0 will apply to 4.1 as well (with some small updates, maybe). There really won't be any need to discard the current translation and do a new one, don't worry.

Maybe it´ll be easier to mark the changes of HTLM files in help (or tooltips or everything else) and send me just the "changed parts of them" to translate, if it´s necessary  ;D
