Well avast 5.0 is in beta testing so although relatively stable it isn't recommended for a live system.

So you really are looking at the current version of avast which is 4.9.1368 and there are the Home and Pro versions. Home is free for Home and non-commercial use, or the Pro paid version for commercial use or if you want the additional functionality and configuration.
