Malware on Plurk Client?
« on: January 08, 2010, 01:23:02 AM »
Recently I've searching for Plurk Client for Windows, I found most of them work with Adobe AIR. But I found one which is not, it calls "Bitter" - should be handle Plurk and Twitter (The review on Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Other-Internet-Related/Bitter-MH.shtml).

When I download it, I got file called "BitterDownloader.exe" - and it seems just like YM - its calling for external source to download the full program. But its always failed.

I then submitted it to Virus Total and found a some programs (but not avast) do recognize it as malware (here is the report: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/45f79d4786f4cf61ce990e10ae8a4f10f07c42d68ba0699069fdbd912a64a00e-1262909440). I've submitted the compressed zip file to virus@avast[dot]com.

I wonder if anybody else have ever tried this program.
