SBS2008 Licensing
« on: January 27, 2010, 05:34:48 PM »
Hello,

Unlike previous versions, SBS 2008 Premium is actually TWO Server licenses:
[1]  Small Business Server 2008 (with Exchange)
[2]  Server 2008 (with SQL Server 2008).

I'm a little bit sceptical that the SBS Suite license will truly support this configuration out of the box - without having to purchase an additional Server License.

Can anyone clrify this before I take the plunge...

Many Thanks,
Stephen

I guess you're asking whether or not the AVAST SBS license will cover both servers?

I'm pretty sure it will, you just need to purchase another client license with your suite.

Hello,

So, does the Basic Server product use the same installer as a Workstation Client?

Many Thanks,
Stephen

No, there are separate installers for the netclient, and server editions.

If you are using the ADNM console, you'll just create to install packages.  Deploy the client package to the clients, and the server package to the servers.
