The Times to Charge for Frequent Access to Its Web Site

ridiculous, as if advertising wasn't enough...OK I do run ABP in FF, but still  ??? ;D
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/21/business/media/21times.html?hp&emc=na

I seriously think that won't work, as soon as people will have reached maximum access times allowed for free, they'll go browse somewhere else  ;D There are other solutions, like paid access on some sections.

Starting in early 2011, visitors to NYTimes.com will get a certain number of articles free every month before being asked to pay a flat fee for unlimited access.
... wonder how they're going to deal with this, considering most people on broadband in the EU have dynamic IPs  :D and relying on cookies...could work with a majority of people not cleaning their browsers' files regularly  ::)

I must say, people will be ready to pay for New York Times because their quality of news reporting is awesome....

You can't find some insights anywhere  8)

But recently I am seeing the effect of Arab dollars on Rupert Murdoch - News Corp

This effect is even on FOX NEWS

Read here

I think I will be forced to read

www.news.google.com

or

www.news.yahoo.com

in the future  :-\

Well, that will just mean fewer viewers for their ad revenue in the hope of picking up cash for views.

Isn't it Rupert Murdock trying to do the same for his media empire, even going to the extent of trying to block google from linking to pages and circumventing payment, etc.

yes... and the funny thing is that the Murdoch group belongs to a group of people who protested against the French government that now wants to tax Google for their un-allowed inserted adds in news  ;D
