When I used IE 8 and checked the logs, there were logs but when I used Minefield and checked the logs. there were no logs.

may be because IE by nature allows almost any sort of redirection to happen, while Firefox blocks any, even without the adblock extension...

Just now uninstalled it because I have got no use with it because I use Firefox with Adblock Plus

Anyway, it was fun to learn things about Hosts and Hostsman

Do I really need to re enable DNS client service?

no you don't need to, that's your own choice. Browsing works fine without DNS cache in Windows and I never found it was faster when the service is on. I leave it on just in case  ;D and flush it regularly (CCleaner has an option now for this if you don't want to run the console command)
