hi,

I hav recentley installed avast! home on my pc and am very pleased with it.
However i have incountered two problems, i want to set avast to scan my yahoo and MSN messenger incoming files for viruses, i open my msn/yahoo and select scan incoming files but i don't no what to application to select, can someone explain to me how to do this please.

Also i was wondering if Avast automaticly scans my MSN/yaho emails?.

Lee, by now, avast! scans pop3/smtp/imap email accounts.
You can seach by Yahoo in the forums and you will find a lot of information about. I suggest YahooPops Windows 0.6 (http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/yahoopops/yahoopops-win-0.6.exe).

Sorry, I cannot give you more help as I'm not a yahoo user...

Hi, for Yahoo and MSN messenger protection you can use Instant Messaging provider in avast!. Simply check Yahoo and MSN in configuration dialog and avast! will protect you.

The link that you gave Technical is not working.The program is not working because yahoo give not anymore free pop.I am a Yahoo user and you must paid for the POP server

Here is the info for checking downloaded files in both msn and yahoo messenger.
Place the following into the line that requires the virus checking info:

"C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe"

This assumes that you installed avast! to it's default directory (Folder).
