Can't send e-mail
« on: January 21, 2010, 07:27:08 PM »
I've had avast! 4 running some time (build 4.8.1368) but recently set the machine up with an e-mail account (need to split mine from partner's) using Outlook 2000. It worked fine initially but when we logged on this morning, the first Send/Receive gave an error message.

Every outgoing message is stopped (message undeliverable text says "No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient.") The first time it happened we are fairly sure there was an Avast splashscreen saying there was a problem (did it update last night?). I did post a message earlier in a non-ideal place - DavidR's suggestion (thanks) to look at the Outlook Add-In facility did not resolve it.

I would love to turn off Avast! to try without but it asks for a password - I have no recollection of either receiving or providing any password when I installed Avast! or Outlook. Is there another way to stop Avast!?

Incoming mail is working fine. How do I get outgoing mail working again?? Any help will be much appreciated. In case it helps, other data is:

Operating system XP Home edition V5.1 SP2

System: Intel Celeron 1.4GHz  504MB RAM

Outlook 2000 (9.0.0.0.2711)
