you have stream scanning activated in web shield settings ?... there might be a bug there, especially with Firefox.

Are you talking about "Use Intelligent Steam Scanning"? Yes it is checked (see attached image)

I've unchecked this option "Use Intelligent Stream Scanning", but same result  :-\ as posted in my first post.

OK but precisely this option "Use Intelligent Stream Scanning" is meant for Firefox  ;)

Okay.

But no one from avast team has replied to my post yet  :( They should check it, it could be a bug (what I mentioned in my first post)

Should I contact them through email?

What happens if you click on "save file" after the web shield alert pops up?
It is not possible to divide anything by zero

I can download the file like any other file.
And when I double clicked the file (after it downloaded) the windows alert appear asking "Run" or "Cancel" (see attached image please)

And no real time shield of avast is off. All are active  :-\

:o That indeed is strange. Lets just wait until someone from alwil comes around and take look at this issue.

Hey, the problem has been resolved  ;D

It was not a bug in avast.
I had to re install my firefox browser due to some other problem (I was getting error in downloading youtube videos "No flash video found") and guess what!!! Now the avast web shield is working perfect with firefox too  ;D (please see the attached image)

I never thought it was some problem with firefox or I would have re installed it quite earlier.

But anyways I'm very happy now ... lol  ;)

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I underwent the same phases OP has but my avast still allows me to download the file.

Interestingly enough, it downloads an empty file...

Hi

I tested it and it  did  abort the connection at the same time as the pop-up appeared  ;D
