Avast 5 Running & Scheduling Scans
« on: January 23, 2010, 12:48:19 AM »
I have tried to run a manual scan with Avast 5 but although there is a Scan Now icon and 4 un-named scan icons on the left side nothing happens when I click on them.
Also couldn't find a way to time schedule for daily scans.
Help required please.
Thanks:Ian Mc

What is behind settings in top right corner? is it there

found it, its in custom scan....

when you click on the scan tab on the left side, you should see different scan types..quick scan / full scan..
and there is a start button on the right side

Thanks Pondus
I tried to schedule a scan thro' "Create custom scan" but nothing happened.
Maybe someone could post images of what "Scan computer" should look like and subsequent pages in the scanning process.

Just thought I'd share my latest Avast 5 experience in case anyone else had problems with scanning.
On getting up this morning I thought I must have forgotten to turn off computer but no it was Avast 5 running a scan.
Exitted Avast by using "escape" so that I could go online.
Then "Summary" became "Unsecured" so I used Add/Remove programme to Repair.
Still showing as "Unsecure" but "run programme" fixed it.
Then for the first time I saw the "Start" on the right side of the "Scan Now" page and also the names for each type of scan icons which weren't there previously so ran a Quick Scan which was completed successfully.
