"Can´t find License file"

Hello! I just bought a 2 years pass for my avast anti-virus and when I installed it it asked for the cd-key wich i wrote. Then aftter it keeps asking me for a "license file" wich I cannot find. Help anyone? Checked the mails but could´nt find any imported file there. Help please!

What avast version are you using 4.8 or 5.0 ?

Where did you purchase avast ?

When you purchased avast, you should either have received an email with a license number in it (for avast 4.8) or an email with a license file attached (this is for avast 5), presumably you would have to save that attachment to your hard disk and that is what you would use.

I brought Avast 4, I was given the License Key in the confirmation email, not the License File & Avast is asking for an License File. The subscription status is showing as Not Yet Activated. What do I do? How do I activate the subscription status?

Does not compute. You bought a license for v4.

The product you have installed is asking for a license *file*,
which suggests that you have v5 installed.

If you have v5 and want to convert a v4 license key to a v5
license file, there should be a place at the bottom of the
"Your Subscription" page in the v5 GUI where you can request
a conversion.

Yeah, it's at the bottom and you have to click the little triangle to see it. Why the hell is it hidden like that?

You might well have bought a license for vast 4.8 pro, but you downloaded avast 5, a little unfortunate timing as 5.0 has just been released.

- avast! 5 Pro license convert from 4.8 Pro license. Try http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php now, fill in the form giving your email and 4.8 Pro License key and they will send the new license file to you (presumably it will check you have a legit 4.8 Pro license first).
