As DavidR recently posted:

A search on dbsCreateObject on these forums returns lots of hits and should be your first port of call.

This thread does deal with the same error and should help, otherwise complete the search that I did to find this thread and more.

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=1%3baction=display%3bthreadid=1924%3bstart=msg12791

There is a wealth of information on these forums, all you have to do is look, search for the error such as 'dbsCreateObject' in this case and see what comes up.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

I'll add option to select which storage method to use (XML or ODBC) in AEC. It will be much easier then editin INI file, especially for novice users.

Yeah, GO SLOVENIA !!!

That's my boy ! I'm so proud of you my friend ! I like the way how these forums works... Tight cooperation between Alwil Software, users and some third party (not less worthy in any way) programmers !

A way to go RejZor ! We must think of new, novice totaly inexperienced users.

Ok i just released new version of AEC which supports Database method changing.

Farrukh, you can download AEC from my signature or my webpage, look for Change Database Storage Method function and switch it to XML. This will do the trick without problems :)

Though I'm getting an error whenever I restart my computer. Avast error message appears and it says that it could not start the MaiL Something.

It says that port 25 is open .?

25 or 110?
The first is usually for smtp (outbound mail) and the second for pop (inbound mail).
You can see the links on my signature to found TCPView and see which application is using that ports...
I bet on a spam killer at 110  8)
