Another Update Problem
« on: February 27, 2010, 11:43:38 PM »
Earlier today the automatic update didn't work. Previously there had been no problems with either auto or manual updates. When I pull up the status page it shows version 100227-0 in red. When I press the update button it looks like it is going to start searching for an update, then informs me that version 100227-1 is installed and up to date. A restart and a few more attempts produce the same result. Any idea what is going on? I have program version 5.0.418

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual virus definitions version.
