boot scan

  Using avast 5 ,I got a message saying possible virus in the boot memory, so I set the scan for a boot scan, it did its job found a malware, gave me 6 options to choose from, but when I chose # 2  nothing happens, its like my keyboard isn't connected , but it is.  using windows 7, usb keyboard
