Malwarebytes, is a freeware and can be used as an on demand scanner with no real-time protection or the paid version offers a protection module and that is a onetime payment for a lifetime key, myself i use the free version along with Avast http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=contentMain;contentAux  for more info on this superb application used by Techs on a daily basis to clean infected Pcs and laptops for clients go here, http://www.malwarebytes.org/

no real-time protection is a onetime fee of 24.95 US. Dollars and that is for a lifetime license that means forever never have to purchase or renew it ever again.

Spyware Terminator works great for me with real time protection.

I can highly recommend Malwarebytes.  It's proved itself time and time again.  I've got it installed on about 150 customer's PCs and it has removed spyware that other programs can't.
The realtime protection can slow a PC down if it isn't a decent spec though, particularly Celeron processors.

I'm using SUPERAntiSpyware with real-time protection, and everything is working just fine here with Avast 5 Pro Antivirus
