Updating

I'm going to have to go back to either manual update or ask me when an update is available.
My computer locked up last night when I was watching a DVD movie because Avast wanted
to do an automatic update.
After I rebooted the computer Avast said that I had to reboot my computer again for the
update to take place.
After the second reboot my mouse started acting funny so I shut of my computer.
It was a brand new mouse as well.
My mouse is working fine today.
My brother also told me that if he is surfing the web the computer slows down when it
goes to do an automatic update.
