Avast Free 5.0.377 and current version 5.0.396

Hello,

I have been a fan of Avast for sometime now and I love it and I will continue to support Alwil Avast team and use their FREE Antivirus as it does protect my system very well.

However I have been disappointed with the version 5.0.377 as my computer kept freezing and haning and the only way I could solve the problem was by holdng the on/off button down till the computer turned off.

I am now using Avast 5.0.396 (which is the current and latest version).
Now I am using Avast 5.0.396 and it is running a lot smoother than 5.0.377.
Although 5.0.396 is running smoother than 5.0.377 I find that 5.0.396 is slow when running and when I open my browser or MS outlook it takes about 1 and half minutes to open.
On the whole it is a great product and as long as it protects my system like Avast has done in the past that is all I'm concerned

I know, mine does the same thing. Once it's on for several minutes things speed up again, but the initial slow down time is horrendous. I'm using the internet security Avast program.
